NSW TrainLink XPT

The aerodynamic design and trademark ‘nose’ make the XPT distinctive as it cruises through the countryside between Brisbane & Sydney and Sydney & Melbourne (also services some NSW regional towns). Mainline journeys feature sleeping carriages on overnight departures, plus first class and economy seating carriages (on both day and night services), as well as a buffet car selling hot/cold meals, snacks, alcoholic and non/alcoholic drinks.

The Savannahlander

A truly unique weekly rail journey - the 1960s Savannahlander rail-motor traverses the 423 km journey over two days, offering passengers the opportunity to discover and explore the remote North Queensland outback - it’s at a relaxed pace, travelling in relative style, through country you will never forget. Affectionately known as the “Silver Bullet”, it is considered one of Australia’s more interesting rail experiences.

NSW TrainLink Xplorer

NSW TrainLink Xplorers join Sydney to regional/scenic centres like Canberra, Armidale, Moree, Griffith and Broken Hill. Quiet, air-conditioned and environmentally-friendly, they use modern European rail technology.

Broken Hill Outback Explorer

A wonderful 1,150 km journey from Sydney to the Silver City (Broken Hill), winds over the Great Dividing Range to glide through the Blue Mountains with its well-known scenic beauty. Outback Explorer curtained windows provide excellent viewing, and there’s a dining car serving meals. Book early to ensure a first-class reclining window seat!

Golden West Vintage Rail

Travel in considerable style on-board the carefully restored iconic carriages of the 1960s ex-Southern Aurora through spectacular NSW regional scenery, featuring the sandstone cliffs by the Hawkesbury River, the scenic coastline around Newcastle, the wide expanses and starlit night of the Central West and the Jurassic rainforest of the Blue Mountains.

Riverina Vintage Rail

Departing from Sydney’s Central Station in the heart of the city, this vintage rail journey travels via historic Goulburn, Junee, Griffith, Parkes, Mt Victoria, Katoomba and the Blue Mountain villages. Travel comfortably in the carriages of the recently restored Southern Aurora - private and twin sleeping cabins, dining and lounge cars.
