All Things Salty – 12th May

Another wonderful trip around the globe by Gary & Greg took us this week to Salt Lake City.  Plenty of things to see, restaurants to dine in and bars to enjoy.  You can even cruise on the Great Salt Lake, but that is as close to an Ocean Cruise as you’ll get in Salt Lake City!

So, as I never bow down to a challenge, I set out to find a link…..and Bingo – there is a suburb of Honolulu called….Salt Lake!  So we’re off to Hawaii for this weeks Cruise Deal of the Week…

On the 4th October you will fly from Australia direct to Honolulu and enjoy 2 nights at the Aqua Oasis Hotel with breakfast, right in the heart of Waikiki.  During your stay you may choose to enjoy the beachfront atmosphere, incredible retail options, or explore the rest of the island of Oahu including Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head or the lesser developed North Shore.

Honolulu, Hawaii

Its then time to cruise, and you embark the Pride of America for the classic 7 night inter-island Hawaii cruise.  Your first Island is beautiful Maui and an overnight night in the port of Kauhuli.  As Maui’s only port, Kahului is a bustling harbour. It is minutes away from some of the island’s most scenic spots. Visit the sacred Lao Valley and Maui Tropical Plantation, play a round of  the world renowned gold courses at Kapalua, or walk the pretty streets of Lahaina.

Pride of America

Over to the island that gives the state its name – Hawaii.  Hilo is located on the Big Island of Hawaii, the largest of the Hawaiian Islands, and the most varied in landscape—with striking black sand beaches and green sand beaches, tropical rain forests, ancient Hawaii heiau ruins, alpine terrain, and surreal lava rock landscapes.

Haleakala Crater, Hawaii

That evening Pride of America will sail the southern tips of Hawaii, when there may be possibilities to view the spectacular lava flowing down from Mount Kilauea into the Pacific Ocean underneath the stars.

Kona Coffee

Staying on the Big Island and its a day in charming Kona.  Kona is full of variety, ranging from pristine beaches to rolling uplands that are home to coffee plantations, macadamia groves and the largest privately owned cattle ranch in the United States. To the southeast lies Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, and Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. And offshore lies a fisherman’s paradise. A destination well worth the visit

The fourth largest and oldest island in the Hawaiian group, Kauai is known as the “Garden Isle” simply due to it’s incredible lushness. Kauai’s terrain ranges from the volcanic slopes of Mt. Waialeale and the desert-like beauty of Waimea Canyon to the Wailua River’s lush Fern Grotto. Explore Kauai from it’s lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls and geological wonders, such as the dramatic Nã Pali Coastline. The natural beauty doesn’t stop at the shoreline, the Garden Isle’s white-sand beaches and aquamarine waters are showstoppers as well.   Another overnight stay will give you plenty of time to explore this wonderful destination.

Waimea Canyon

Arriving back into Honolulu the cruise comes to an end, but your holiday does not as you will enjoy another night at the Aqua Oasis Hotel to soak in some Waikiki sunshine.

Finally a flight back to Australia brings you home.  You can stay longer if you wish – maybe explore more of Hawaii by visiting the other islands of Molokai or Lanai?

Flights from Australia, 3 nights at the Aqua Oasis Hotel with Breakfast, 7 nights onboard Pride of America and all transfers in Honolulu are all included in the package price of just $4,495 per person.  But there is more – say you heard about this cruise on 94.1FM Gold Coast Radio and we will include a Ultimate Drinks Package on the cruise, valued at $89USD per person per day, and includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, wines, beers, soft drinks and juices!
